The accused, whose addresses are unknown, are standing trial on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy shop-breaking and theft.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Yusuf Sale, told the court that Musa Muhammad of Tudun Yola Quarters, Kano, reported the case at Rijiyar Zaki Police Divisional Headquarters, Kano, on July 25.
He said the complainant went to his shop at 8.00 a.m. located at North-West University, Kano, only to discover that some unknown persons had broken into the facility.

According to him, the accused were caught while trying to sell off the stolen items.
The offences contravened Sections 96 and 288 of the Penal Code.
