The first day of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) 65th Convention kicked off with the ordination of deacons and deaconesses on mondaywhilst the welcome service held in grand style on Tuesday evening (Day 2 of the one – week long event). The welcome service began with intense worship and prayer which signaled the beginning of the new spiritual exercise all together. As usual, the sermon was taken by the General Overseer, Pastor E. A Adeboye and it was titled Entering His Gates.
It’s almost impossible to summarize all the lessons learned from the sermon in just a few lines because truth be told, there were numerous lessons taught but with God nothing is impossible. Yeah? Right!
Here are a few things we learned from the welcome service sermon.
The sermon was titled Entering his Gates, so bring out your journals, let’s write.
Wherever there is a gate, there are treasures in there if you can get in Psalm 24:7-10Only the righteous will be allowed into His presence because He is holy. Psalm 118:19When God decides to do something Himself nobody can stop Him. Isaiah 43:13
The purpose of Gate and doors is to restrict access. It limits numbers of people who can come in because it means there are treasure therein – Mathew 25 (Ten virgins)
Praise Him until you enter into His presence
