Kwara Gov's wife urges ladies to acquire vocational skills before marriage


WIFE OF the Kwara State
Governor, Mrs. Omolewa
Ahmed, has advised young
ladies to acquire vocational
skills in addition to their
education before going into
marriage in order to be selfreliant.
She charged them to rise
above board in order for them
to be successful mothers and
measure up to the challenges
of the contemporary world.
The governor’s wife spoke
while declaring open, the
2017 annual zonal youth
camp of the Federation
of Muslims Women’s
Association of Nigeria,
FOMWAN, South-West
Zone B currently going on in
Ilorin, themed “Youth As an
Agent of Positive Change.”
The zone comprise of
Ekiti, Kwara, Osun, Lagos,
Ondo and Kogi States.
Represented by the state
Commissioner for Women
Affairs, Hajia Asiat Ayinke
Saka, the governor’s wife
advised participants at the
weeklong camp to take
advantage of the vocational
training opportunities in the
state.
She said the state’s
Ministry of Women Affairs
has 22 different trades in
which young girls can lay
their hands in order to be
successful mothers.
The Chairman of the
occasion, who is the Chief
Press Secretary to the Kwara
State Governor, Alhaji
Abdulwahab Oba, advised
parents to prioritise their
children and wards’ welfare.
He regretted that
communal up bringing
which in the past aided
society in the proper
upbringing of children, had
been relegated.
The FOMWAN Zonal
Coordinator, Hajia
Nimatalllahi Salam, in her
address, said he camp was
organised to unite youth
and groom the youth to
be successful mothers and
leaders
